Permanent exhibitions in different halls are devoted to the people of Asia, South America, the Pacific and Africa, Central America and to American Indians.
There is a famous collection of dinosaur skeletons, as well as sections on minerals and meteorites, gems, molluscs, African and Asian animals and birds. There is a calendar of special events, and an IMAX Theater with a 4-storey screen.
The Planetarium has the Space Show, computerised special effects and live shows for children on some weekends.
