The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art

 

A reproduced Buddhist monastery, situated on a steep hillside, houses the western hemisphere’s biggest collection of Tibetan art works, musical instruments, ornaments, costumes, bronze images and ritual objects.

Educational programmes are on offer. Phone for the date of the Harvest Festival celebrated by monks at the Centre in the first half of October, when Tibetan foods and craft works are on sale. Jacques Marchais was an arts dealer.
