City Island

 

Set in Long Island Sound, off the borough’s eastern shore, this is a fishing, boatbuilding and yachting community, with an assortment of seafood restaurants.

There are gingerbread houses, bungalows with stained-glass windows and an historical nautical museum at 190 Fordham Road. A narrow causeway connects the island with Pelham Bay Park. Several yachts entered for the America’s Cup are moored here.
